Hypnosis consultations for Eating and Weight Management
You have "all the willpower in the world" until 8 p.m., and then the pantry wins?
You know the diet-then-break-then-guilt cycle by heart?
Our hypnotherapists support people anywhere in Quebec who want to transform their relationship with food: in person in Montreal, Laval, the Laurentians, Montérégie, the Eastern Townships, Quebec City, Saguenay, or online.
No menus, no weigh-ins, no judgement: work on what makes you eat when you are not hungry.
Why turn to hypnosis for eating behaviour?
What if we stopped fighting food?
Snacking on the way home from work, the chips in front of the TV, the "well-deserved" sweet thing after a long day, the evening binges followed by "tomorrow I will get back on track"…
These behaviours are not a lack of willpower.
They are emotional habits: food is doing a job that is not its own — unwinding, rewarding, keeping you company.
As long as that job is not handed to other resources, every restriction sets up the next break. That is exactly what hypnosis reprogrammes.
And what if we also stopped comparing ourselves to social media?
Our approach is clear: being kind to yourself is not indulgence, it is a condition of effectiveness. Guilt is the most reliable trigger of compulsion there is.
To understand the mechanisms in depth (emotional hunger, the diet cycle, what the clinical studies say), read our full guide: the Eating & Weight guide on solutionshypnose.com.
Hypnosis for Eating and Weight Management
Our approach: behaviour, not the scale
Concretely, over three to six sessions in general, we work on:
- The habits: uncoupling the trip home, the screen or the empty hour from the reflex to eat.
- The emotions: giving stress, boredom and tiredness answers other than the cupboard.
- The fullness signal: hearing "just enough" again and rediscovering the pleasure of eating without excess.
- Self-image.
You also learn self-hypnosis, to become self-sufficient between sessions and afterwards.
Those sugar cravings that feel uncontrollable, what many of our clients call their "sugar addiction", are one of the most common reasons people book with us, and they respond very well to the work.
We are glad to work alongside your registered dietitian (Dt.P.) or your doctor: the "what to eat" is theirs; the "why I eat without being hungry" is our ground. The two together give the most lasting results.
How the support works
The work always starts with an in-depth conversation: your history with food and with diets, your triggers, your dominant emotions, your medical context. Expect three to six sessions in general, two to three weeks apart to let the changes settle in…
Eating behaviour is retrained in real life, between sessions, largely through the self-hypnosis you will learn. Sessions work just as well in person as by video.
When to see a doctor first
See a doctor first, and make hypnosis a complement (never a substitute), in the following situations:
- eating disorders, confirmed or suspected (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder), which call for specialised and often multidisciplinary care;
- obesity, particularly if a medical or surgical pathway is being considered;
- diabetes or any metabolic condition;
- rapid, unexplained weight gain or loss, which needs medical investigation;
- pregnancy.
We will ask you these questions at the first conversation, to be sure we are the right resource for you.
What our clients say
« I really enjoyed my three hypnosis sessions for weight loss. With the sessions, and thanks to Annie's valuable advice, I managed to overcome my everyday stress and lose weight. I'm living a more fulfilling life and I've learned to let go. I'm very grateful and I recommend her without hesitation! Thank you for everything! 😁 »
Lyna, client of Annie Mayrand
« I met Nuria Perez for a sugar addiction. I'd tried to quit several times but it was very hard. After meeting Ms. Perez I no longer had that ''sugar craving'' like before. I can watch my kids eat ice cream with no problem, and I don't even crave sugar anymore! Thank you so much Nuria for your help! :) P.S. My local Dairy Queen misses me ;) »
Erick, client of Nuria Perez de Leon
« Nothing was working for my eating disorder. I recently started my sessions with Sandra Djina Ravalia and I'm already seeing changes — it's relaxing too! Less confronting and uncomfortable than other approaches. I finally feel like things are moving, thank you for your care and your work Sandra. »
Annie, client of Sandra Djina Ravalia
« Nuria is an exceptional person. I started working with her on weight loss, but I quickly realized her sessions go far beyond that. She welcomes with great kindness, sincere and non-judgmental listening. Her approach helped me regain confidence in myself, reconnect with my strengths, and find deep, lasting motivation. Thanks to her support, I not only saw concrete changes in my life, but she literally transformed how I see myself and my future. She helped me move forward with more serenity, lightness, and hope. I can say today that she changed my life for a better future. Every session was a precious moment, where I felt understood, guided, and supported. Her professionalism, gentleness, and humanity make all the difference. I recommend her from the bottom of my heart to anyone who wants a real change, in a safe, inspiring setting. ❤️🥰❤️ »
Karine, client of Nuria Perez de Leon
« Great results with my eating habits. I feel like I salivate more, I put my spoon down and chew slowly, my taste buds are discovering new flavors. I eat the same amount of food but I don't feel any pressure in my digestive system. »
Catherine, client of Sabine Chapuis
« For my first session, it went really well. She took the time to explain hypnosis to me properly, to understand why I binge eat, and to help me find realistic, positive goals. With her attentiveness, empathy, and compassion, I felt comfortable the whole session. »
Annick, client of Annie Mayrand
« I had a wonderful hypnosis experience with Sandra Djina Ravalia. My goal was to have a better relationship with food. Not to lose weight, but to listen better to my hunger signals. I was very impressed to see results from the very first session. I could tell, concretely, that the feeling of being "too full" that made me feel guilty almost every day was gone. I'm also less obsessed with what I "can" or "can't" eat. In the end, I feel freed from a weight that sat on my shoulders every day. I truly recommend hypnotherapy to anyone who wants to improve their relationship with food!! »

Frequently asked questions about Hypnosis and Eating
That depends on your group plan. Our practitioners issue receipts (counselling, naturotherapy or hypnotherapy depending on their affiliation), but not every insurer accepts them: check your policy before the first session, specifying the type of receipt your chosen practitioner issues.
No, that is not our role. Menus and the "what to eat" belong to a registered dietitian (Dt.P.) or to your doctor, with whom we are glad to collaborate. Our ground is behaviour: why you eat when you are not hungry, and how to reprogramme that.
The two roles complement each other.
If your difficulty is knowing what to eat, start with the dietitian.
If you know perfectly well what to eat but "it breaks down" anyway (snacking, compulsions, sugar…), it is the behaviour that is stuck, and that is our work.
Many of our clients combine the two.
Yes, because we do not take on "as long as I can remember".
We take on specific habits: the trip home from work, evening tiredness, the screen… and whatever food soothes for you.
Three to six sessions are generally enough to install other answers, and self-hypnosis takes over afterwards. How old a habit is does not predict how stubborn it will be.
Frequent episodes (a large amount eaten quickly, a strong sense of losing control, deep distress afterwards…) call first for a medical assessment and follow-up: talk to your doctor as a priority.
ANEB Québec also offers a listening service and resources. Our support can then complement that care, in agreement with your care team. We are neither psychologists nor psychotherapists, and we will always point you elsewhere if your situation calls for it.
The best time is the one when the decision comes from you, not from the calendar.
That said, January has a classic trap: the resolution-as-restriction that sets up the February break. Starting with behaviour rather than with a diet is precisely how to avoid that scenario.
And starting before the holidays so you get through them equipped works very well too.
We are neither psychologists nor psychotherapists. Our services are rooted in helping relationships and well-being: they do not constitute psychotherapy (a reserved act in Quebec) and in no case do they replace medical or psychological care. If you are suffering physically or psychologically, see a doctor or a psychologist.
