Hypnosis for Big Fears in the Eastern Townships
3 hypnotherapists and 3 offices, in Sherbrooke, Sutton and Bromont, and by video.
Fear of flying, driving, heights, animals or being judged: we help you get your freedom of movement back, in English and in French.
Big fears: life in the Eastern Townships
Snowy country roads, Highway 10 to Montreal, the ski lifts at Orford, Sutton or Bromont, the lakes in summer, farm and forest animals, the flight to go on a trip: in the Eastern Townships too, an untamed fear can quickly shrink your daily life.
Many of our clients describe the same thing: they know their fear is out of proportion, but they end up organizing their life around it, avoiding the road, the mountain or the trip.
Fears, phobias, panic: what is going on
- Fear is useful: it protects us from danger. It becomes a problem when it runs away with us over things that are objectively not very dangerous.
- A phobia is an intense, irrational fear that can trigger strong anxiety, anxiety attacks or panic. The fear, or even the fear of being afraid, becomes uncontrollable.
- Avoidance keeps it going: the more you avoid what scares you, the more room the fear takes. Some fears come from a specific event; others build up this way over time.
If your fear is linked to a traumatic experience, see a psychologist first. Hypnosis can support that care, never replace it.
Fears in teenagers
Fear of speaking in front of the class, of being judged, of exams or of driving when getting their licence: most teenage fears pass, but some settle in and end up limiting outings, sleep or school.
What hypnosis can do for you
Defusing the fear response
Hypnosis is a powerful yet gentle tool for managing fears tied to an object, an animal or a situation. In hypnosis, you go through the dreaded situation in complete safety, until the body stops reacting as if facing danger.
Getting your freedom back
Flying, driving on the highway, taking an elevator, walking through a crowd: the goal is concrete. You leave with anchors and a self-hypnosis exercise to stay calm on the day, before a flight or on the road.
With teenagers
Hypnosis speaks to them naturally: it draws on imagination, in sessions adapted to their age, so the fear loses its grip. They leave with simple tools they can use on their own, and parents are involved along the way. If the fear comes with other difficulties, talk to your family doctor first.
Our hypnotherapists in the Eastern Townships

What our clients say
« A huge thank you to Florence Aton for her services. I had a great fear of iguanas that made the prospect of a trip to Costa Rica frightening. After only two sessions with Florence, I was able to be very close to them and even take photos with them without any problem. For me, hypnosis worked very well. »

Frequently asked questions about hypnosis for big fears in the Eastern Townships
Often few: for a well-defined fear, a few sessions are usually enough, sometimes just one. An older or more diffuse fear takes longer. From the first session, you leave with a self-hypnosis exercise.
No. Even a few days before departure, a session can help you approach the flight more calmly, with tools to use at the airport and on board.
See a psychologist first. Hypnosis can support that care, never replace it.
Yes. With teenagers:
- Romain Rastoin, in Bromont.
$135, taxes included, for a session of about one hour with Florence Aton, Jessica Reid and Romain Rastoin. A 90-minute session is $185 with Jessica Reid; Romain Rastoin's first session, of about 1 h 30, is $155. We provide RITMA (naturopathy) receipts, which not every plan accepts: check with your insurer.
Yes, both. All three hypnotherapists see clients in English, and video gives results equivalent to the office, handy when the fear is about the road itself.
We are not physicians, psychologists or psychotherapists. Our services fall under helping-relationship and wellbeing support: they constitute neither a diagnosis, nor treatment, nor psychotherapy (a reserved act in Quebec), and in no way replace medical or psychological care.
